This is asmall spritethatlives in farmhouses or wine cellars. Like Brownies they help humans by doing small household chores in return for supplies and furniture. Leprechauns are known for their luck and fortune.

They are happy little guys that dress in old fashioned green clothes with buckled shoes. They have a pot of gold that they bury at the end of the rainbow, but if a mortal were to capture the leprechaun and demand the gold, he is obliged to give it to him.

They are a class of fairy folk known to have lived in Ireland and associated with the Tuatha de Danann. They are associated with “fairy forts” and “fairy rings” often found at the sites of ancient Celtic ruins.

They usually take the form of wizened old men and enjoy making mischief.
