| Hi, I'm Ryan. I attend Greenbrier Academy and am the leader of the Destineers. There have been so many changes this year I hardly know where to begin. Actually, I guess it all began with our new headmaster Wiliam Derrnz. He's pretty cool. He brought his own teachers in and a curriculum I am pretty sure the school board doesn't know anything about. It has been so much fun! Life has definitely gotten more interesting.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone!

| Hi, Ryan,
I'm beverlyjean and I'm happy to meet you. Your school sounds interesting. Will you be telling us more about it? I hope so.
Bye for now.

| Hi Miss Beverlyjean!
Our school is awesome. Maybe you've heard of Greenbrier Academy? It's a very prestigious residential private school nestled in the valley at the base of the Alijunga Mountains. It is beautiful there. Last year though, we got a new headmaster, Wiliam Derrnz. He is sooo cool. We are in a beta testing program for this new curriculum, you see, and besides general education and general magic classes, we have private lessons in classes that enhance our natural strengths. It's really cool how Prof. Derrnz knew some of these strengths before we even did. I mean, we all knew Kylie is the writer of the group, but no one suspected Sean knew so much about science and Brady is a natural linguist - his communications skills are unbelievable 'specially since he's just a kid.

| Wow! Magic in school. The only magic in the schools I attended was the magic of having my homework on time. I hope you'll tell us more about enhancing your strengths. That is so cool.

| Our school is amazing! Professor Derrnz brought in specialists at the top of their fields to help us learn where our strengths lie. Kylie's is in writing - that was a no brainer, she is on the school ewspaper and yearbook committee and whenever she finds herself with free time she is either in the library reading or finding some sort of creative writing class somewhere. Professor Ginger Sinclair is her mentor. She is brilliant and has all kinds of writing awards. Sean took us by surprise. He has always been so laid back, ready to share a joke and a laugh. Who knew he knew so much about science and engineering?!?! Professor Fitzwilly is definitely up for the challenge. He is brilliant...and pretty quick on his feet too. Professor Fitzwilly is the brains behind the Incarnation Chamber (which lets you travel to any time past, or present in any realm) How cool is that?!?! This guy can inspire anyone, they make quite a team. Brady. What can I say about my little bro? When there are seven years difference in age, a lot of brothers might not be as close as Brady and I are, but... everybody loves Brady! He is such a good kid with this ginormous heart. He has always had a gift for seeing what someone needs to have seen in them. Take his friend Danny McGees, for instance. This is a kid that is virtually invisible (not literally of course) but he is average size, nothing outstanding about his looks and very shy. He is super smart but, well, not exactly comfortable in social settings. He probably feels a little lonely at a residential school because he doesn't make very many friends. Brady realizes that but he can get Danny to feel relaxed so he can join in when we all go hang out. Brady's mentor is Professor Roardan. We always thought the professor was the PE teacher - who knew he knows about dragon training first hand? Really. His comes from a long line of dragon riders and trainers, you might say it is his family business. Professor Roardan knows all about Camelot and Merlin...and he even keeps up with our fascination with the Knights of the Cosmic Kingdom. (He's a worthy adversary on the arcade game too ) And me? I get to work with Professor Stromber. He is amazing!! He teaches Spelling...yeah, I know, that is what I thought too and I was not happy about being enrolled in that class...till i found out what kind of class it really was! He knows about all kinds of magic - spells, potions, charms, telekenesis. He has the greatest vehicle too - it can change shape at his will. Seriously. Sometimes it is a Segway. Sometimes it is a tiny private glider plane, sometimes a little sportscar. The way the Professor works with perceptions and magic are incredible! I am really learning a lot from him...and the headmaster, Professor Wiliam Derrnz. I feel like I have known Professor Derrnz forever - like a long lost relative or...something. | |
