| Welcome class. Kylie has asked me to speak today about wizards. Wizards are those with specific detailed knowledge of the secrets of the universe and are able to manipulate it in magical ways. They are the most proficient in the world of magic. They are wise and very skillful at all levels of magic. There are good and powerful wizards (like Merlin’s who is probably the best known wizard of all time) and there are dark wizards, practicing the darker side of magic. There has been an ongoing battle of good and evil, dark and pure magic from the beginning of time. One of the most frustrating things from those who side with goodness and purity is that good magic is often overlooked and taken for granted. Rainbows, for instance; there is a lot of magic associated with rainbows – particularly with the wee folk – but have you ever stopped to consider the magic and power of a really beautiful rainbow? It tends to get taken for granted. Things on the darker side of magic cause feeling of nervousness and even fear so they tend to attract more attention. Wizards are the pinnacle of the fantastical community’s hierarchy. Because of their vast knowledge of the universe, they live extraordinarily long lives. They are not immortals, but wizards, such as Merlin, have unlocked the secrets to living forward and backward in time which must at least factor in to their lengthy life spans. Wizards tend to fall into three categories – those who do magic with spells, those who perform their magic with a wave of their hand, and the rarest - most skilled of all - those who need nothing more than mere thought to complete their magic. | |
